Sally was born in Oak Park Illinois, raised in Chicago and has resided in numerous cities throughout the United States. In 2019 she moved to South Carolina to start her second retirement where she would then be closer to family.
Sally has always been involved in the arts, after raising her family she pursued it full time after her first retirement move to Tennessee in 2006. While she was a high school student in the Chicago Public Schools she was afforded an opportunity to take classes at the Art Institute of Chicago and later went on to major in Art while at college at Iowa Wesleyan College and Southern Illinois University. She says, “It is what I have always loved to do – paint/create for all to enjoy.”
Working primarily in watercolor, acrylic and mixed media, Sally has a love of vivid colors and it can been see in all her paintings. Her work in watercolor and acrylic is frequently taken from everyday subjects that include pets, old car or motor bike and that special bottle of wine. Her mixed media, “Tissue Paper Art”, consists of individual torn pieced of colored tissue paper in different sizes that are then glued in place on a canvas in layers. Sally has been commissioned to do paintings of that favorite pet, special bottle of wine and family homes. Her artwork has won numerous awards and looks forward to doing something special for you.
Sally is presently a member of the Summerville Artist Guild, Goose Creek Artist Guild and shows her work at Art on the Square in Summerville SC.
